Travel will feature the Philippine landmarks and sites. This time syndrome will feature the queen city of
the south - Cebu City!
The thing that i missed so much from this place is the Sinulog Festival which is celebrated every third
Sunday of January. This celebration commemorates the coming of Christianity in the Philippines. It is represented by the image
of the Holy Child Jesus Christ or locally it is known as the Sto. Niņo! I have attended this festival for five years during
my stay in Cebu or sometimes called Sugbo.
The Sinulog Festival is celebrated with lots of activities from the procession, floating parade, special
mass, reenactments of how the spaniards brought Christinaity in the island of Mactan and the mardigra that features a certain
beat of drums and trumpets. The mardigra is celebrated the whole day and part of the city is closed to avoid traffic during
the celebration. People will have to walk to about 2 kilometers to see the festival.
